The purpose of Chinmaya Mission is to provide to individuals, from any background, the wisdom of Vedanta and the practical means for spiritual growth and happiness, enabling them to become positive contributors to society.
The word ‘Chinmaya’ means ‘Consciousness’ or ‘Knowledge’. Chinmaya Mission is an organization where seekers of Truth come together to acquire and impart the ancient teachings of the Upanishads.

OM TAT SAT
Bala Vihar classes are designed to provide spiritual and cultural orientation for children attending Pre K to 12th grade. These are conducted once a week by trained sevaks and sevikas, at various locations in Manhattan and Long Island.
Chinmaya Adult Study Groups are teacher led or facilitated group discussions focused on providing the wisdom of Vedanta and practical means for spiritual growth and happiness, to individuals from any background, enabling them to become positive contributors to society.
Chinmaya Yuva Kendra strives to unite youth and young adults by providing a forum to explore, discuss and practice Vedanta, while strengthening their lives for success every endeavor.
Chinmaya Mission New York welcomes donations from its patrons on an on-going basis. Chinmaya Mission New York is a non-profit organization and donations made to the Mission are tax-deductible.
