Let’s join together and perform a Hanuman Havan to purify our sacred space and raise funds for constructing our temple altars.

The funds raised through Hanuman Chalisa Havan will be utilized for constructing the Chinmaya Upavan Temple altars and dome which will house our deities – Shri Rama Parivar, Radha Krishna, Bhagavan Shiva and Bhagavan Ganesha along with our Gurus Swami Chinmayananda and Swami Tapovan Maharaj.

The 3D renderings and drawings below help us visualize the divine abode. Click on the images to get a closer look at the thoughtful layout and intricate design of the altars and the dome. With your help and generous support these will soon take manifest form.

Please give generously so that we can create a sacred abode to welcome the Lord in our new home.

What is a havan?
A havan is a sacred Vedic ritual in which offerings are made into a consecrated fire while chanting mantras or hymns.

Fire represents purification. Through this ritual, we are going to purify the land of our new ashrama as well as purify our minds by invoking Lord Hanuman to grant us selflessness, devotion, and wisdom.

How will the havan be performed?
Each family will be assigned to a havan kunda. Individuals will also be assigned a havan kunda and are allowed to bring two guests. The havan will be performed sitting around the kunda while chanting Hanuman Chalisa and making offerings to the sacred fire. The procedure will be guided by the priest. In registration you can choose Floor havan kund where you’ll be seated on the floor around the havan kund or choose Table havan kund where you’ll be seated on chairs around the havan kund which will be placed on a table.

What are the benefits of a havan?
Physical: A havan is a way of purifying the atmosphere and spreading positive energy.
Psychological: The rhythmic chanting, sacred environment, and act of offering help reduce agitation and increase purity and calmness.
Spiritual: Vedic rituals are meant to harmonize the individual with the larger cosmic order so that they are in tune with totality.

In the process of this havan, two powerful energies of sound and heat are invoked which combine to produce a powerful, positive energy which benefits the physical, psychological and spiritual well being of every one.

Please Register so we all collectively chant, invoke and offer our devotion to Lord Hanuman and in return are graced and blessed by him. Registration is mandatory for all attendees. Please enter names of ALL members in your group during registration. See additional details under Frequently Asked Questions section below.
